Stick-Slip Motion (Rolling Friction)


Solid model for 3/D multi-body dynamics software(ADAMS) is imported from SolidWorks.

1(one) cylinder is places between upper and lower plates, contacting each other with user-defined friction force.
The lower panel is fixed to its gloval position, and the upper panel is holizontally pulled against a spring which connects the cylinder and the lower panel.

As the upper plate moves in constant speed, the cylinder is dragged by the friction force in between, until the tensile force of the spring exceeds the friction force, when the cylinder is pulled back.

The above-mentioned process repeats its motion exactly in the same manner.
